“Can’t We Just Count on All Student Loans Being Forgiven?” (Ah—No.)

Are you thinking you won’t have to worry about debt-free college ideas, because your kids’ loans might just be forgiven?

Don’t count on it.

It’s not sustainable for US students to keep running up huge college debts that the US government just forgives year after year.

The math on that just doesn’t work.

Some student loan debt may be forgiven here and there—but your kid’s likely will not be.

If you’ve got a kid ages 12–26 right now, protect your kid’s future by jumping on all the debt-free college strategies you can, starting right now. (Especially the “low-hanging fruit” ones that don’t involve filling out scholarship applications.)

I’ll make this easy for you. We’ll do it together—step by step—over a period of months. Your starting point will be watching one free, fast-paced 10-minute training video by me at bit.ly/easylaunchinstructions. Watch it now if you can!

Are you worried you’ll have individual, specific questions about this process we’re walking through together, and you won’t know where to get those questions answered? Get on the waiting list for my TRIBE Membership—and I’ll take care of you.

Be sure to do this!

Protect the possibility that student loan debt could be forgiven after 10 years of public service.

The federal program that most reliably allows student loan debt to be forgiven is called Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).

(You can learn more about it here.)

PSLF is not fast or easy—and it can limit income for 10 entire years if your child ends up working in a low-paying public service job. But it is one route to getting loans forgiven.

Protect your child’s PSLF possibilities by doing this.

Fill out the FAFSA financial aid form every October that there’s even the slightest possibility you might have a child in college or technical school the following fall.

Filling out the FAFSA form every year is the first step to possibly getting Public Service Loan Forgiveness years down the line.

Are you struggling to understand the FAFSA changes that are coming down the pike? Read my clear info on that subject here.

Has someone told you that filling out the FAFSA form won’t help you? Read my article 7 Reasons to Fill out FAFSA—Even If You’re Rich. Don’t delay—read it now.
