I’ll be a featured speaker in Nashville at the Institute for Cultural Communicators iCON 2018 Conference, which runs June 25th–June 30th, 2018. iCON is one of the most popular conferences in the world for homeschooling families, but non-homeschooling families attend as well.

My particular session at this conference is open to the public.

The entire iCON conference is extremely valuable, but if you’re pressed for time, any student or parent can purchase a $97 one-day pass to this conference and benefit from a full day of programming that includes me presenting an extensive, in-depth session entitled How to Get Kids Through College Debt-Free—Without Scholarships! (Read on for a full description of this session.)

Seeing me at a conference is extra valuable.

One of the best things about seeing me at a conference (as opposed to seeing me at a one-evening class) is that you’ll be able to find me in hallways, at meals, and in the exhibit hall—and ask me individual questions you’d never get a chance to ask me otherwise. I love doing this, so please come and find me!

CLASS DESCRIPTION: How To Get Kids Through College Debt-Free—Without Scholarships!

  • 7 things parents can do right now to put their kids on the fast track to getting through college debt-free
  • How kids as young as age 15 can get an exciting, liberating sense of possible career goal early on, and then sign up for only the amount of college absolutely necessary to accomplish that
  • How kids as young as age 12 can get a massive head start on racking up the 10,000 hours it takes to be viewed as expert in a career field
  • Why deeply inspired caring—not the fancy name of the college you attend—is the key to fulfilled, satisfied career life in the long term

For students ages 12–26 and their parents.

THE STRATEGIC COLLEGE STUDENT: How to Get Higher Grades While Studying LESS Than Most Other People

For students ages 12–26 and their parents

There’s not a student alive who wouldn’t love to get higher grades than anyone else while studying LESS than most other people.

In this 3-hour seminar, students ages 12–26 learn the advanced studying, test-taking, and paper-writing strategies that top students use to succeed at the most prestigious colleges in the country while still having plenty of time left over for leadership, interning, and having more fun than they ever thought possible.

Students will leave at the end of this seminar armed with a systematic review method developed at Carnegie Mellon University that can completely eliminate the need to ever cram for exams.

Are you a student age 12–26?

This seminar will help you to maximize your potential in high school and in college, give you more time to relax, and help you to become a top contender both for scholarships, and for career or grad school success after college.

See JeannieBurlowski.com/SPEAKING to learn what other students are saying about this class.

Who should attend this seminar?

This seminar is ideal for middle school students, current high school students, current college students, graduate students, and teens who will be starting dual enrollment courses this coming fall. Parents are encouraged to attend as well.

This class will be taught in Minnesota again, in August of 2018. Watch my weekly email newsletter for details.

Here’s how to register:

Imagine your child applying for 10 scholarships every single year, starting in 8th grade and going all the way through grad school. 80—100 scholarships altogether. Wow! That would be amazing! But who wants to write 100 scholarship essays? Not your kid, that’s for sure.

Here’s the brilliant solution. Your child writes one stunning scholarship application essay, and then modifies it and uses it over and over again to apply for 100 different scholarships. You make sure this is such a brilliant essay that it gets your kid money—even if he or she has lower grades and test scores.

This 2.5-hour class will teach you and your child exactly how to write such an essay.

You’ll learn to:

1. Throw the old “introduction-body-conclusion” essay structure out the window. That’s an informative essay structure that doesn’t work for persuasion.

2. Use the same principles of argument that lawyers use when arguing cases in court. (Be sure you know all three component parts of logical argument before you try this.)

3. Use vividly written stories to capture attention and create powerful emotional pull. Begin to see potential in your child’s own life stories, the ones that in the past you only viewed as run-of-the-mill and ordinary.

4. Equip yourself with a new, clever, multi-layered organizational structure that makes room for all of your greatest accomplishments without ever sounding scattered, disorganized, or disjointed.

Other students have called this class “amazing” and “revolutionary.”

This class is also suitable for applicants to law, medical, business, and grad school.

Wondering where you’ll find 100 scholarships to apply for? The instructor for this class provides 1.5 million of them for you at this link: Bit.ly/2gbS0tu

Applying for scholarships is a relatively small but important part of getting through college debt-free. Be sure you’re doing it in the best way possible.

(This event is open to the public. It is highly recommended—but not required—that parents and students age 12—22 attend this class together.)

Cost: $59 plus $25 for each additional family member.

What does it look like to follow Jesus in the modern workplace?

Whether you’re a public school teacher, a student, a surgeon, a retiree, or “a cog in a corporate machine,” you may have wondered at times, “Is there any way for my faith to empower and transform my regular, day-to-day Monday-Friday life?”

“Could the power of God at work inside of me… actually make me better at the day-to-day secular work I do?”

REFRAME is a 10-week video and discussion course that equips men and women of all ages to tap into faith to empower the work they do every day.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR REFRAME?

The 10-week REFRAME course fee is $30 for all 10 sessions. You buy just one $30 ticket, and you get access to a full 10-session course! Come to as many or as few sessions as you like.

Want to try out just one REFRAME session and see how you like it? Register here, attend one time, and if you don’t want to attend the rest of the sessions, we’ll cheerfully refund your course fee.

WHERE WILL THE COURSE BE HELD?

REFRAME will be held at the beautiful Charleston Event Center, a colonial-style wedding and event mansion on the southwest corner of Interstate 35E and Highway 96 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

WHAT ARE THE CLASS DATES?

Tuesdays

January 9th – March 20th, 2018 (no class on March 6th)

HOW IS EACH REFRAME CLASS STRUCTURED?

6:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Optional social time

7:30 – 8:30 pm: Facilitated discussion

***Part of the purpose of REFRAME is to help you to build friendship and community with people you may never get to meet if you just stay within the walls of your own home or church. So please — try to come for the social time on every night you possibly can.

WHO IS WELCOME?

Everyone is welcome, from all faith backgrounds and from no faith backgrounds.

You can tell if your child is old enough to attend by showing him or her the video trailer, above. If the response you hear is, “I want to go to that!” then your child is old enough to attend.

Childcare is not provided for this event.

Yes. Individuals and groups are all welcome to attend. We have a large seating capacity, so invite as many people as you’d like to. Just ask each attendee to register separately.
